Stop Hiding Behind an Old Headshot | Update Your Professional Image in Woodbury, MN

Let’s get right down to it. If your headshot doesn’t look like you anymore, you’re sending the wrong message. You’ve changed. You’ve grown. You’ve leveled up. And yet the world is still meeting the old you first.

That ends now.

I am me.

New haircut. Defined style personality that fits who I am. There’s a jacket of confidence that comes with that!

Your headshot isn’t just a round picture on your LinkedIn profile. It’s your introduction, your calling card, your proof of life. If it doesn’t feel powerful, if it doesn’t look like the person you are today, you’re holding yourself back.

Here’s When It’s Time to Update (Spoiler: It’s Probably Now)

  • You had a transformation: weight loss, fitness reboot, or the kind of confidence glow that can’t be ignored.

  • You literally changed your look: chopped your hair (or are now bald!), colored it, added a few inches of extensions, and your old headshot still screams “before.”

  • You launched something new: a business, a role, a project, and your headshot doesn’t match your direction.

  • You upgraded your style: new glasses, new wardrobe, new vibe.

  • Life shifted: parenthood, a new pet, milestones that matter.

  • You feel different: More powerful. More unapologetic. And you want that energy seen.

  • Who is that: your old photo doesn’t look like you any longer and it’s time to change up.

  • On your mark…get set: You’re craving a fresh start. GO!

I Walk This Talk. I HAD TO!

This summer, I had a color analysis done to understand what colors harmonize best with me. I also did a style analysis to give myself a wardrobe do’s and don’ts refresh, and Holly with House of Colour suggested a shorter hair style to go with this new look. As a result, part of my transformation involved several inches being cut off my hair! Every time I looked at my existing branding headshots (which I still love, by the way), I felt like I was looking at someone else. My hair isn’t even that color anymore, and it’s definitely shorter, my weight has fluctuated (thanks, menopause and life)…So I did exactly what I tell my clients to do: I got back in front of the camera. I updated my headshots to reflect the woman I am right now. And let me tell you—seeing those images? Powerful. Energizing. Freeing. “Where in the hell have I been?!” is what I felt like yelling. Better yet, there was a feeling of “HERE I COME!” in my answer. And do you know what? She’s always been there. She’s just evolved. And she’s ready to be seen as she is NOW.

I’ll share my before and after, because I want you to see exactly what I mean.

Past headshots I’ve used:

…and current ones with shorter hair-a better representation of “me”

Don’t Hide Behind Yesterday’s Image

You don’t need permission to do this. You definitely don’t need to wait until “someday.” Unless of course that someday has finally come and it’s N-O-W.

The version of you right now deserves to be seen. Today. Not last year. Not three hairstyles or 50 pounds ago. Not before you owned your worth.

Everyone deserves a chapter to just reflect on their own story.

Transformations don’t begin with a camera. They begin with a conversation. Let’s talk about the headshot that will finally match who you've become.

Start the Conversation

Stop letting the “old you” take up space in your world. Show. Up. In. Photos.

Editors note: This was a fun post for me, because I feel like I found my place again with fresh headshots, because people can connect with ME as I am NOW. My hope is that you will find your place also when you spend some time with me to (literally) Take 2 headshots. Spots are going fast. Get on that.

See you in the next post.

Fondly,
