Sportraits for Seniors | Twin Cities Senior Photographer, Monda Goette Photography

Every year, I’m blessed with a new group of seniors that grace their presence in front of my lens. Many of them are athletes, or partake in other activities that the seniors want to highlight. I would too! I mean after all, it’s your story - and I’m here to document that story in photographs for you!

2019 was my first official go at launching a brand new style of sessions called “Sportraits” - which, obviously if you are an athlete, this is a very cool, edgy look for you. But it’s not JUST for athletes alone. It is a special session that highlights your activity skill set that you want to be part of your story for your senior year. The activities you participate in are a a HUGE part of who you are.

I learned the concept of Sportraits at the EMERGE! Workshop in Kansas City, Missouri last spring 2019 with a small group of other professional photographers. I attended this workshop to continue my ongoing education in perfecting my photo craft as well as tuning in to bettering my business as a whole. The Sportrait look was so modern with an edge to the end portrait, I couldn’t wait to do this back home! I work with a lot of athletes and other seniors who have amazing talents and hobbies, and I wanted to bring something different to the table for their senior portraits, to really showcase who they are and what they love, while staying true to who they are. Cue in my test shot for Sportraits!

I feel like the concept of in-studio Sportraits went over really well for my first year (I even got to test it back home with Tessa, 2019 trackstar graduate from South St. Paul, and former Park High School gymnast, and studio model, Mandy). During the Class of 2020 season, I had an opportunity to take pics of a client, Markas, who was really into cosplay, and another gal, Sammi, who was an amazing painter & artist! Offering Sportraits required added studio lighting on my part, so that was really exciting to add that to my senior sessions! Check them out below!

This year, for my Class of 2021 senior session options, the Sportrait is part of The Master session. To get started, click here to get started!
