Small Business Corner: Increase your visibility on social media | Twin Cities Personal Branding Photographer

Is your business visible on the web? Learn 4 ways to go from invisible to visible from local MN headshot and personal branding photographer, Monda Goette Photography.

Being a small business owner or “solopreneur” is hard sometimes! We wear many hats…from being CEO, to CFO, quality control and customer service, to the Marketing Director, and Creative department head. We have to know all of the things! I looked around and found four great ways that small businesses (and larger businesses alike) can increase their visibility on social media. (And being out of the social media for the last 9 months or so, I realize I too needed this for me…so let’s make a promise to navigate through this together!)

Here are four effective ways small business owners can increase their visibility on social media:

  1. Define your target audience and create content tailored to their interests: Knowing who your target audience is and what type of content they are interested in makes a huge difference when it comes to social media success. You can take it a step further and conduct market research & analyze social media data to get a better understanding of your audience's preferences and behavior.

  2. Consistently post high-quality content: Regularly posting content that resonates with your audience is key to keeping them engaged and is a game changer for growing your following. (I need to get better at this myself!) Focus on creating quality content that is relevant and valuable to your target audience.

  3. Engage with your audience: Social media is a two-way conversation. Just like me “talking” to you now via blog. Engage with your followers by responding to comments and messages, asking for feedback, and even showing up with videos and reels (which I am learning!). This can help build a relationship with your audience and increase the likelihood that they will share your content with their own followers organically.

  4. Leverage social media advertising: Social media photos for advertising can be a highly effective way to reach a larger audience and promote your business if done correctly. Platforms like Facebook Meta and Instagram offer a range of ad formats and targeting options to help you reach your desired audience. And let’s not forget about good ol’ Google Ads! Be sure to check for local SEO experts who can help you maximize your advertising dollars too!
